Therapeutic Techniques Used

I am experienced in a variety of techniques, and incorporate them when appropriately indicated.  The client and therapist relationship is fluid and dynamic and techniques I use are tools that help decrease the emotional pain and correct symptomatic issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, chronic stress, substance abuse and addictions.   Some techniques I regularly use include Mindfulness Training, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Hypnotherapy.

The core of Mindfulness practice is identifying “Where are you right now?”  Focusing on your Body as it is, (rooted, posture) your Breath, as it is, (physical contact point) and Mind as it is, (non-judging labeling).  Combining Cognitive Behavioral therapy (a way to look into our thoughts and identify any negative habitual thinking) with Mindfulness practice creates a stronger, more powerful tool for change.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that helps bring you, the client into a calm relaxed but highly attentive focus to help change chronic cognitions and behaviors when more common tools prove ineffectual.  Hypnotherapy has a scientific base and is not “magic” as the traditional history would suggest.
